Tangerine Puerh
Tangerine Puerh
Did you know...?
Tangerine Puerh is a very unique tea in which the leaves are placed inside a tangerine peel before they are aged. During the aging process, the leaves take on the flavor of the tangerine, giving the tea a sweet and citrusy aroma and flavor.
Because this tea is a pu'erh, it is stronger than your every day black tea in both flavor and caffeine content. This tea is great for gong fu brewing, or for simply adding to your travel mug while you go about your day. It doesn't get bitter by steeping longer, and you can steep it many times throughout the day (or just keep adding hot water to your teapot, like I do!).
To increase the citrus flavor in your tea, you can also add bits of the tangerine peel.
For anyone looking to delve into the world of pu'erh, this tea can make a great introductory starting point. And remember, a little goes a long way! 2-3 grams of tea will make a robust cup.
Use 2-3 grams of tea per 8 oz water and it can be steeped multiple times. Please refrigerate leaves between steepings and discard after 24 hours.
